C++ solution explorer icons not changed

description

In all the screen shots I've seen, it's C# icons that were changed to their VS2010 equivalents, but native C++ icons remain unchanged :-(

I have a fixed version on my side, the problem is that the bmp resource in vcproject.dll 2012 is bigger than on 2010.

This is how I got it working:

1- backup existing dlls using the provided VSIP_vc_patch.zip (backup -l -v=2012)
1- extract icons ( extract )
2- open Images\VCproject.dll.204.bmp in an image editor like photoshop and change canvas size to 1344 pixels (should be 1312).
3 - copy the folder icon twice over the empty space on the right.
4- inject icons in the dll.
5- vs2012 usability magically improved.

The only thing I changed in the source was to add this line in Helpers.cs:

AddDllToList(false, "VC\VCPackages\VCproject.dll", 204 );

But I think the fix is not going to be easy to use without distributing the extracted bmps, since it's a bit more involved than copying resources over dlls.

Regards.

This solution works for me, too. Thanks a lot.

Do you have any idea how to change icon for inline files (example.inl) ?
